Sugarland , an American country music duo,is comprised  of singer/songwriters from the Atlanta, GA, area, each of whom has had some level of renown success as a solo performer. It  was founded in 2002 by Kristen Hall with Bush and eventually became a trio after hiring Jennifer Nettles as lead singer.Hall left the group after three years.

Within minutes of getting together they  create  something utterly dissimilar than anything any of them had done before. Although the songs are rootsy and lyrically sophisticated but still appealing and reachable. By hook or by crook these role artists have set up themselves making mass-appeal country music.

Sugarland played their first gig after  four months getting together and were astonished by the audience response. They were selling out 1000 seat venues by their fourth gig.

In 2004,they signed a contract with Mercury Records.In the same year they broke through with the release of their debut single ‘Baby Girl’. It was the first single from their multi-platinum debut album Twice the Speed of Life.
In 2006,When they released their second album, Enjoy the Ride, The trio became a duo. In the U.S. this album produced their first two #1 singles , ‘Want To’ and ‘Settlin'. They won the duo a Grammy for ‘Stay’.

Sugarland truly became superstars in 2008.In 2008 their third album titled Love on the Inside got released. This album consisted  three more #1 singles ‘All I Want to Do’, ‘Already Gone’and ‘It Happens’.  On October 19, 2010 their fourth album, The Incredible Machine was released in both a standard and deluxe edition. This album was  influenced by the so-called ‘steampunk movement’  in science fiction circles.Sugarland's physical album sales exceed 9 million copies, Upon "The Incredible Machine" being certified platinum, with an additional 5 million digital tracks sold.
